Universal Analytics properties will no longer collect data as of July 1st, 2023.
- Google: "Google Analytics 4 is our next-generation measurement solution, and it's replacing Universal Analytics. On July 1, 2023, standard Universal Analytics properties will stop processing data. We strongly encourage you to make the switch to Google Analytics 4 as soon as possible."
To continue using Google Analytics to track web traffic, you must use GA4 instead of Universal Analytics. We don't want to blindly prescribe how you go about creating your GA4 Property, but there is a native setup assistant available which makes it relatively quick and painless.
With our latest release, adding your new GA4 code is as easy as it was to add your Universal Analytics ID. You can find these fields under the advanced settings dropdown menu of your settings panel.
NOTE: Once a GA4 code has been saved to your settings, your universal analytics code will no longer work. If this is a problem for an ongoing consultation, reach out to us and we can implement GA4 manually to have an overlap in the data.
Personal note: My name is Zane and I work in Marketing for Konveio. It was overwhelming to learn all about GA4 before setting up new properties for our new website Konveio.com. Ultimately, I spent far more time learning about the change than it took to just go in and make the new property. If you look online, it's made out to be a huge and scary process; however, it was quite simple and I was able to use their setup assistant. Good luck!
